Making More Wishes Come True
Make-A-Wish started with one little boy who wished to be a police officer. His wish came true thanks to the caring hearts of the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Make-A-Wish has since grown into an international foundation that provides life-changing wishes to kids with critical illnesses. They believe that wishes “make very sick kids feel better – and sometimes, when they feel better, they get better.”
Like many nonprofits, Make-A-Wish relies heavily on individual donations. The current Make-A-Wish goal is to have a 75 percent wish-to-gift match utilization for all Make-A-Wish Chapters in the year 2019. By running wealth screenings through DonorScape®, Make-A-Wish’s fundraisers are able to prioritize their donors and approach each donor with a proposal tailored to the rating and results.
The Prospect Research role is key in developing a strategic process of identifying high priority donors and managing portfolios. DonorScape provides a guided path so Make-A-Wish staff do not find themselves shooting in the dark for prospects.
